Love as I See it

I remember as a child, I was confused with the term love. It is usually explained to me as something great, something beautiful. I was oblivious with love until i shot this picture. The scene captivated me and I knew, in that very moment, I should capture it. For I believe that no young love could ever match two souls that have promised and are intertwined in a dance called lifetime

This is my entry to “Love as I see it”. A project of www.islandrose.net flowers Philippines

Rainy-suspended-classes day!

Rainy morning! I was 30 minutes late for my first class due to this dull and cold weather. It's nice to just stay in bed and drowse off 'til forever! I was expecting classes to be suspended this morning, unfortunately, they did suspend it but after my early class. Still, a suspension is what i really need! Enjoy half day vacation! haha

Final Destination 4

Total disappointment! Well, it is expected, just like any other FD movies, there will be gruesome clips. However, it is a bit tiring to see the same story and story flow all over again! If you're planning to see this movie, I advice you to see other film! HAHA

CEBU TRIP!

Since I was in a 10 day self-quarantine, instead of spending it at home-watching t.v., playing PSP, net surfing etc, I decided to go to Cebu! Together with my mom and my brother and sister, we headed to the southern capital of the Philippines! I kept it a secret since the school might require me another 10 day quarantine since I entered the airport (which, they say, is the "breeding ground" for AH1N!) It was a surprise decision! It was the check up day of my mom when my sister brought up the topic of going to Cebu since she'll be flying there. I'm free, my brother is looking for a vacation and my mom needed the relaxation. The next thing I know is I'm already purchasing the tickets! We departed on saturday morning and arrived the same day noon time. We stayed at Marco Polo Hotel.

On our first day, we just ate buffet lunch at the hotel! It was a great treat after that exhausting flight! I tried almost everything but the best for me is their mango crepe glazed with choco syrup and finished with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream! IT WAS MOUTHWATERING!!!! On the second day, my sister left at 5am since she has a flight to Narita, Japan. We waited for 10am and we headed for SM city Cebu. We searched for Saisaki since we were planning on eating buffet lunch but we later found out that there is no Saisaki at that mall. We went to Waterfront Hotel to try our second option. We arrived at The Port at 11pm, just in time for lunch! Again, it was satisfying!!! They served unlimited sizzling bangus!

I'll just continue my story on my next post since I'm currently hungry because of this story! One thing I am sure, Cebu is really welcoming and the FOOD they were serving were simply AWESOME! (can't think of a word powerful enough to describe the taste!) Bye for now!

130 Smiles=New Camera!!!

In our last day in Malaysia, we decided to spend the whole day discovering the "whole" beauty of Penang. Well, it is impossible to stroll around the whole island in just one day, but we managed to have a glimpse of the island! I'll discuss this further in a separate post. We decided to go to Gurney Mall in the afternoon since the heat is excruciatingly hard to bear! Inside the mall, right in the middle, there is a small program. Of course, the tendency is to check it out! We later found out that it was Sony promoting its products! Then, the host called upon all people bringing their camera to come up stage for a chance to win a brand new Sony cybershot camera! To cut the story short, I ended joining the contest! The rules were simple; just take as many pictures of people (smiling people) in 15 minutes and in the end, the camera who has the most number of shots will win. (no blurred photos, 1 shot 1 person, no repetitions)

And it started! My hands were shaking uncontrollably! Thankfully, my camera has a built in anti-blur feature to stabilize my shots! I just click and click, running at light speed to click as many faces as possible. I don’t even ask permission, I simply say “SMILE” and take a shot! LOL
In conclusion, I WON!!!! It was really something unexpected especially I went to Malaysia for a conference and ended winning a camera at a mall! It was my first time to win; I am not lucky on draws and alike! I was afraid I will not be able to “outshot” my opponents since I noticed that some of them are armed with SLR’s and other more upgraded versions! Maybe, my advantage was I was not shy in talking to people and taking shots at random strangers! In my mind, I kept thinking that “It’s just OK, since they won’t be seeing me again and I won’t be seeing them also” LOL!

I would like to thank my colleagues who cheered for me! And all the people who let me took pictures of them; the willing ones, the shy ones, the snob type, and the don’t-take-my-picture-covers-face type! And of course God who gave me the chance! Thank you!

Quarantined!

I am currently undergoing the “required” quarantine period of 10 days due to my recent trip to Malaysia. It means no school for me! You may look it a positive thing; extended vacation and time for rest after a hectic week-long conference (half of it was spent on side trips to tourist sites and food trips! LOL). Yet, I still worry about the classes I will be missing (that’s about 2 weeks of discussions, quizzes, etc).

I decided, since worrying won’t do me good, I’d rather enjoy this “vacation”! But for now, I can’t tell my itinerary for my 10 day vacation for some reasons! It’s a mystery! LOL! So far, this pseudoquarantine suits me well! I’m enjoying every bit of it! Goodbye for now!

Alive and Kicking!

Dusting, Sweeping, Polishing... I need to clean up the dust in this blog! LOL I was unable to post updates for more than a week since I attended a conference in Penang, Malaysia. (oh yeah! AASP conference! almost for free! Insert acknowledgments to my Professors and all people who donated) It was a fun, informative and unforgettable experience. As reference with my old post, I was in Malaysia way back in 2007 specifically Kuala Lumpur. This time, I had a chance to visit a more "greenish" part of Malaysia-Penang since KL offers the usual metro. I can describe Penang as a fusion of the western and eastern culture plus a dash of nature! The environment here is so diverse yet there is harmony! I was really astonished by the clean roads, traffic-free streets, human-less sidewalks and the greenery of the place. You can see very very tall buildings, yet, behind these mega structures, lies the green hill! Words are not enough even pictures can't give justice to the beauty of the scenes I've seen in Penang!

P.S. Pictures to be followed, I am still trying to upload all to my multiply account!

EBAY!!!

I am currently into ebay! I'm a certified ebay addict! LOL It started when i was looking for 2000-2003 issues of FHM Philippines. I searched online using Google and arrived at ebay site by a specific seller of these issues. And from then on, I was addicted to ebay, browsing everyday, before going to sleep, for good deals and cheap buys!

And in line with this, I noticed that online shopping is starting to emerge, not only in the Philippines, but worldwide. It is maybe because online shopping provides not just accessibility, but also comfort of browsing through goods in the comfort of you own home! If you go to the mall, you have to endure the traffic, crowded environment, long lines and aching feet! With online shopping, just one click, pay through your PayPal and just wait for it to be delivered at your door step! Easy as 1,2,3!

Even though it is easier doing online shopping, I still recommend Mall shopping since it provides, well, pretty good advantages. First, you can actually SEE and FEEL the product you are purchasing. You can look for flaws, ask attendants for details that are often overlooked in online shops. Second, for clothes, you can see if it fits you perfectly, the size, the feel, etc. (certainly, online shops can't provide this service). Lastly, Outside shopping provides EXERCISE! C'mon! We tend to make things less physically challenging (i.e. cooking). Can we just spare shopping! It can also be a family activity; 2 in 1!

Well, little online shopping won't do harm especially if you are in a very tight schedule and just needing instant splurging. But as much as possible, in general, let us not be technologically dependent! Let us preserve our being human, enjoy life, go out, breathe some fresh air, socialize, meet friends! Our life is a wonderful gift, let us enjoy it!

Sudden meet up!

It was unplanned and unorganized! Peter, invited us all in a conference in yahoo messenger and invited us to go to SM Pampanga and one thing led to another! We had dinner at Pizza Hut (it was a surprise treat from Mairre!) And we went to Northwalk so that Dang can satisfy her cravings for barbecue. We had coffee at Gloria jeans. (this time, a treat from Peter!) It was a night of stories and reminiscing! I miss those guys! Hope, soon, we can go out as a complete group!

Trip to Antipolo Church

Every May, my family goes to Antipolo for our every year trip to Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Church. It is not clear to me when did this "pilgrimage" started but I remember, as a child, I'm excited for this because I can buy any thing I want in the market near the church. Also, I can feast my eyes in "kasoy"(cashew nut) and suman.

Today, I had this trip again with my family. We departed at about 2:30 am and arrived at the church 4:00 am. Because it is early, we had the privilege of finding the best space in the parking lot. Also, my mom had an early look at the market near the church to buy kasoy and suman. I went to nearby 7-11 to buy sugar and bottled water so I can eat the suman while waiting for the first mass. At 4:30, I decided to enter the church and I took some pictures. The mass started at 5 am.

I just want to share the priest's homily. Inpired by today's Gospel, where Jesus asks his apostle to spread unity to the world through God's word. Unity is no strange word to us. It is common in school groupings, organizations, political party, etc. But, what is really UNITY? Is it just sharing happy times together, going out on a trip, planning on something, creating a project? What if there is no happy time? No trip? No plans? No projects? Will we go our separate ways?

Unity is being together even in difficult times. It is easy as being a crying shoulder to a friend during a heartbreak or a married couple staying together
even in the middle of a big problem.

It sounds very very simple, yet, Unity is one of the world's problem. War happens because or lack of Unity! Corruption happens because of absence of Unity! Crimes, Financial Crisis, Broken Families, Unwanted Pregnancy: need I say more?

Unity starts with us; inside our own home-in our family! If we stay unified, as a family, as a nation, as one world, I'm definitely sure, nothing can destroy us!

"I'll wait for the next one"

"Ladies and Gentlemen, ever so sorry to bother you. Don't worry, I'm not here to beg for money. Let me introduce myself. My name's Antoine. I'm 29. I recently read in a magazine that there are about 5 million single women in France. Where are they? I'm looking for a lady aged between 18 and 55 who's also had trouble meeting someone in a conventional way and who wouldn't mind giving a honest relationship with someone a shot..."

-this is the monologue of the guy in the film.. a very nice short film! The shots were great! Hope you enjoyed it! Just going downstairs to get a midnight snack before surrendering to the call of my bed.. LOL! Goodnight guys!

9. Love makes you stupid.. (lagi na lang nakasmile.. diba katangahan un?)
10. Love is the major reason to population problems...
11. Love destroys inuman sessions for the boys and chismisan sessions for the girls..
12. Love orders you to lie
13. Love makes you wear those stupid "terno" shirts
14. Love makes you read horoscopes.... ( lalo na ung sa libre.. nayahha)
15. Love makes you take sleeping pills... (can't sleep thinking about him/her)
16. Love makes you taste other's saliva.. (yak!!!)
17. Love makes you stare at midair...
18. Love makes you believe there's such things as forever, 'til death do us part, etc..
19. Love separates you from the real world..
20. Love transforms you into a detective(feeling mo may problema) then stalker(iconfirm mo may problema...) then killer (naconfirm mo may problema)
21. Love makes you dye your head brown coz he or she likes brown hair..
22. Love steals your food (gusto niya, xmpre bigyan mo..)
23. Love makes you a walking baggage counter (sa lalaki)
24. Love makes you a water girl and towel holder (sa mga babae tuwing may laro siya..)

Love takes away everything from you, even your heart, even your life... Yet you still feel so stupidly happy... (diba.. anu un? hari ng katangahan.. nyayahha...)

Love Love Love..

AWOL!!!

After more than a year of absence, I'm back again in blogging. Since I'm having my vacation at home, I stumble upon this old, dusty, pre-loved blog! haha.. Yet, after reading my previous post, I realized that blogging, how corny, how emotional, how entertaining it may be, it is still a way of expressing one's self to the world. It is a way wherein someone, like me, can find a way to share his life to the world. And after 10-20 years, when you reread all of these posts, there is special feeling that radiates throughout one's body. Blogging is the new generation's new way of keeping memories, not just pictures, but with the help of words, the whole experience.

There you go guys, expect me to be more visible for the next few weeks. Bye!

Out of the box

I have nothing to do so I decided to create my last post for this month of October. I am currently in a internet cafe waiting for almost one hour for my brother's cellphone. Well, my bro's cell just got a little crazy and needs a little bit of tuning. I was the one who bought the phone so I have the burden of getting it fixed. And as a good brother, I traveled for almost 3 hours (I reside in Pampanga and it is exactly 2 hours to get to Manila, and from Manila I need to travel for about one hour to get to Mall of Asia where there is a service center for my bro's cell) And yes, finally, I arrived in this Mall but the great news is that, I need to wait for another 3 hours to know the status of the cellular phone. I have no where to go since I already spend all of my savings last time I went out. I can't even window shop since I usually window shop with money,, hehehe.. i am actually left with one choice, to go to a net cafe and spend 3 hours watching videos in youtube, friendster, and nonsense browsing. I am really pissed off right now! I have no money and when I don't have money, I can't do anything. This the greatest disadvantage of semestral breaks, no allowance, no money... Honestly, I can't even buy myself a cup of coffee from any coffee shop.. haha.. poor poor... Still waiting for 10 more minutes... Got to go guys...

A new day... I'm finally going home...

After the previuous rant.. I feel a lot better now. Expressing all my feelings yesterday was a good therapy. Now, I feel light. And finally, I am going home.. After the exams, lectures. homeowrk and many more, i am going back home. I will be having 3 weeks of vacation for all the schoolwork. I know I don't deserve this break.. For what reason? Too many to mention. Yet, I am excited to go home. I want to taste home cook meals, specifically, my nanay's cooking. I am looking forward to be sleeping in my bed with all my pillows and the cool air of my aircon. Excited to watch all the shows I want until midnight. And I won't forget, to see my makukulit pamangkin. I am actually all packed up, carrying my bag in my lap while typing my temporary last post here in Manila..

Time to refresh, I need all the energy i can get for next semester.....

frustration... frus-tration...

It is really hard when you bump into a problem... and if that problem takes the confidence in you.. Well, i recently "bumped" into a catastrophe... Unfortunately, i didn't pass my chem 150 subject, physical chemistry. I know it is my fault considering the fact that I wasn't able to do my best. The stubbornness got the best out of me. I easily gave up on the subject because I experienced a hard time studying and understanding the lessons. I also had a problem with one of the professors teaching the subject.

I can blame myself for eternity, but it will not change anything. I am still a failure. For the third time!!! I hate myself. Right now, I just want to go out on a busy street with all the cars rushing and blowing their horns, and just shout, shout 'till my lungs explode. Shout 'till I removed this feeling... I continue to disappoint my family, my mother, my siblings... I continue to disappoint myself! Still committing the same mistakes, over and over again. I am tired of failing... I am tired of being a failure.. I hate the feeling of being dumb and worthless..

You Give Little Love...

I was watching t.v. and I heard this song in a commercial of Coca-cola. It immediately caught my ears, and soon, I was already singing it. It has this catchy tune and also a great message. Just wanna share the lyrics... It is a great, great song...

You could have been anything that you wanted to be
And its not too late to change
I'd be delighted to give it some thought
Maybe you'll agree we really ought 2-3-4...

We could have been anything that we wanted to be
Yes, that decision was ours
It's been decided
We're weaker divided
Let friendship double up our powers

We could of been anything that we wanted to be,
And I'm not saying we should,
But if we try it we'd learn to abide it
We could be the best at being good guys
Flowers on the earth
Who can even guess how much
A real friend is worth?
Good guys shake an open hand
Maybe we'll be trusting
If we try to understand
No doubt about it
It must be worth while
Good friends to tend to make you smile
We could of been anything that we wanted to be
Yes, that decision was ours
It's been decided
We're weaker divided
Let friendship double up our powers
You give a little love and it all comes back to you
la la la la la la la
You know your gonna be remembered for the things that you say and do
la la la la la la la
(repeat and fade)

Trip to Malaysia

Last summer, I had a chance to go to Malaysia with my dad. We were there foe 4 days. We had to leave early for Singapore. I enjoyed my stay in this country, we stayed in Sunway Lagoon hotel in Kuala Lumpur. The hotel has its own mall, a very big mall so while my dad is resting in our room, I was able to roam around and look for something to buy (as early as we arrived in the hotel. hehehe) The next day we headed for the Sunway Lagoon Park. It was just beside the hotel and few escalators below (yes, we had to go down, maybe, 5 escalators before reaching the entrance. The park consists of rides, gigantic swimming pools and petting zoo. We were not able to enjoy the pools because we forgot to bring swimming attire (we actually plan not to take a bath coz of some reasons... hehehe, specifically some smell of other swimmers.. hehe..) We just looked around. I was able to enjoy the rides including the AJ Hackett G-ForceX machine, the anti-gravity machine. It was one hek of ride! The machine throws you up in the air form o-120kph in just a second! It was exciting!

The next day, we were picked up by our tour guide and we had a city tour of Kuala Lumpur, it was a bit boring actually. The next day, we were again picked up. We were headed for Genting Highland and from there we will depart for Sinapore the next day. Genting highland has a cool atmosphere, we rode a cable car from the lowest part of the mountain to the hotel. My dad has this fear of heights, he was asking for other alternative to go to the hotel without the heights.. hahaha... I hate my stay in Genting because it was raining hard so i wasn't able to enjoy the outdoor rides, indoor rides are too boring. We were just there to stay, nothing more..

The next day, we were headed for Singapore...

My only pic from Malaysia, my dad doesn't know how to operate the camera, hahaha.. too bad...

In front of a palace in Malaysia. Can't see the palace? Well it is one more kilometer away, this is just the gate... hahaha...
